Offering a lovely and dressy choker necklace by Givenchy. Count Herbert Givenchy started his fashion house in 1952 and he immediately met with success with his couture design and elegant styles. He was a favorite of celebrities such as Jackie Kennedy and Audrey Hepburn. His fashion house is now part of the LVMH luxury fashion group. This choker necklace is silvertone which is usually hard to find. The pendant which is not marked is comprised of a faux large oval pearl surrounded by a decorative frame of pave rhinestones. The faux pearl is smooth and opalescent. It is not flat but protrudes outwards, thus giving the necklace depth. Its border is decoratively framed with swirling "ribbons" that are encrusted with tiny rhinestones. This frame changes as it circumvents the oval pearl. The pendant attaches to the chain with a decorative "shell" bale. The craftsmanship of the pendant is highly superior. All this is done in silvertone metal. THe chain is substantial , shiny and flat. It closes with a lobster claw mechanism. There is a small identification tag stating "GIVENCHY." THe measurement of the pendant is 2"h x 1 1/4"w. The length of the choker is 18". There are no issues with this necklace. It is in great condition. Perfect with a black cashmere sweater or a formal ballroom gown. What an easy and inexpensive way to get that classy look!
