THis lovely goldtone necklace was created by Grosse, circa 1970's-80's. During that time period many designers licensed the Grosse firm of Germany to produce jewelry for them. Dior, among others, used Grosse and consequently the jewelry created was of the highest standards to commensurate with the designer's reputation. This piece exemplifies that high standard. It has a serpentine goldtone chain that is very shiny. The length of the necklace is 15" . Then there is an extender chain of 2" and a lobster closure. There is a dangling fob that has GROSSE incised in it. THe focal piece is an modern abstract form that has a layered look. It is like a "X" , the top piece is a shiny goldtone devoid of scratches. THe bottom piece has clear chaton cut crystals in a pave setting. THe crystals are brilliant and bright. THe size of the accent piece is approximately 1"w x 1"+ h. THe Grosse signature is incised into the brushed gold back. The total length of the necklace is 16 1/2". There are no issues with this piece. It is in excellent condition. Sometimes less is more. This is one of those times......elegant, skillfully made, and timeless. And what a bargain!
