This modernistic enameled pendant by Lanvin, circa 1960, exemplifies the Lanvin tradition of creating superchic and quality made products. The House of Lanvin is the oldest French couture house that is still in existence since its founding by Madame Jeanne Lanvin who infused into the company a motto to only produce the finest be it classic or "cutting edge" This pendant is a perfect example of that. It is a curved square, that is, the corners are rounded. The design is that of a conjoined J and L, the founder's initials. THe larger L is enameled in a sunny yellow while the smaller J is a mint green. There is a small gold tone square in the center with rounded corners. All the straight lined corners in the piece are rounded. The design appears to be very modernistic and it is only when you look closely do you see the actual initials. The pendant is softly linear, a contradiction in terms, but that is essentially Lanvin. THe back of the pendant is a textured goldtone and there is the oval LANVIN PARIS cartouche on the back. The measurements of the pendant are 1"w x 1"h. The pendant hangs from the typical Lanvin serpentine chain that is 14 1/2" long including the round spring clasp. The pendant looks like it came out of the Lanvin store in Paris yesterday. There are virtually no signs of wear, the enamel is smooth without any scratches and the gold is shiny and bright. This pendant can be worn summer or winter, on a pastel tee or a black dress. It is as versatile as you make it and its Lanvin! COndition: Excellent VINTAGE Condition
