Offering a vintage beaded purse with a unique design, circa 1950's, probably French but unsigned. I have never seen such a pattern produced by beads on a purse. It has an under layer of what appears to be silk, Over that are free formed ovals in a cut out pattern. These ovals vary in size and seem to be floating on the outer part of the bag. They are bordered with a rim of passementiere type thread. Then surrounding these stitched ovals are small black seed glass beads that completely cover the reminder of the bag. It's a fascinating pattern. It reminds me of a coral reef. It has dimension since the beads are raised onto the top silk layer. The craftsmanship and detail could only be accomplished by expert artisans, that's why my guess is that it is French. This is an expensive and well made purse. The frame is a Florentine textured goldtone. It closes with a kiss clasp that has decorative tips. There is a goldtone braided carry chain with a drop of 5". The inside is lined with a black satin like material, there is an open slip pocket. It is in great condition, a little dusty from age. The measurements are 8"w x 6'h x 2-"d. Sometimes you don't need all the glitz and glitter to convey style, elegance and sophistication. This purse does that in a very unique and unusual way. Very different...... Condition: Excellent Vintage COndition
