Vintage Jamin Puech Large Chartreuse Satchel Bag with Tooled Leather

Jamin Puech is a French brand of accessories that is dedicated to the "young and young at heart." Isabelle Puech and Jamin Benoit founded this company in 1992, and offered exquisite handbags and leather goods imbued with humor and joy. All of their creations are either one of a kind or produced in limited quantities. They are known for their talented manner of combining different textiles and for their use of exotic and unusual accents and accoutrements. This bag is typical of their creations, being unique, detailed, and unusual. The creativity screams out loud and clear! Jamin Puech has boutiques all over the world and their items are very expensive, even on the secondary market.

DESCRIPTION:
This satchel type bag is large, even considered jumbo in size, being 15"wide. The bag is amazing in many ways. It is entirely covered with leather, a smooth lightly textured chartreuse leather as well as brown tooled leather sections. Hardware details and trim, of which there are many, are all this cowhide leather combined with silver metal accoutrements. The chartreuse color is similar to a pea green color and it covers the sides and the bottom of the bag. Although most of the bag is the brown cowhide leather, the chartreuse leather is bold and striking, the brown and green complimenting each other. The cowhide leather has the wonderful aroma of freshly tooled leather and it has a large design that is geometric and very deco looking. To me, it also has a southwestern and even Aztec, vibe. The tooling gives depth and dimension since it is accomplished in darker and lighter brown colors. These panels are amazing pieces of creative artwork and talented skill. The sides of the bag have brown leather and silver additions and the bag opens/closes with a twist lock at the top. The lock is encased in brown leather, of course. There is whip stitching and other brown stitchery throughout. Two brown leather carry straps have a drop of 9". The inside of the bag is lined with a navy and turquoise geometric patterned fabric. There is an zippered pocket and the Jamin Puech leather label is affixed inside. A fabulous JP dust bag is included. The inside looks as though the bag was never used. The bag measures 15"w x 8 1/2"h x 4-"d. The bag is in great condition. Although there are minor scratches on the brown leather (this type of leather scratches easily, adding to the wonderful patina) I believe they are a result of poor storage. I believe this bag was never used. What a bag! Would love to keep it for myself, but I think it is probably more suited to a younger fashionista (not that I am old!) You won't be able to count all the accolades that you will garner when wearing this fabulous piece of art! Condition: Excellent VINTAGE Condition
