I have seen and sold many Judith Leiber bags, but this one is a bit unusual, especially since it is a relatively early one. I wouldn't have recognized it as a Leiber until I saw the identification plaque inside. Leiber bags have a certain look and have frames that are usually opulently decorated with stones and crystals creating a traditional appearance. The frame on this purse is a little different since it is chunky, large, thick and modern in its design, very unlike Leiber's look. Yet it makes a statement and is uniquely done. The bag is small to medium sized and it is very rounded. It has curves and scallops throughout and a few linear straight lines. It is made from a soft and supple kid (?) leather that has a grain to it. It is dyed a milky white. There are pleats on the front and back that are on a diagonal. There is a scalloped decorative accent below the frame on the front. Now for the frame. It is quite large measuring almost 2"high. It is a very bright gold tone and is rounded. There is a "diamond" pattern engraved on the surface which appears to give a puffy effect even though it isn't. The upper half moon accent lifts to open the bag. There is a serpentine gold tone chain that can be removed in order to wear the bag as a clutch. The drop is 15". The inside is lined with a light beige grosgrain fabric. There are two open slip pockets and an oval mirror and small coin purse are included. A care card is also included. The inside is essentially clean with some minor indications of wear and use. The bag measures 8 1/2"w x 6"h x 1"d. The bag is in great condition. There are two small spots on the back, very faint and probably could be eliminated by a good polish. I leave that up to its new owner. As it is, it is in amazing condition for a white bag of many years. This bag is perfect for the bride who does not want to go the frilly and lacey route but prefers a modern and sleek wedding dress. Of course, even if your not the bride, and you need a white bag, this Leiber can't be beat!
