WoW!!! This one is gorgeous! In the late 1970's, an artist and painter, opened a shop on Madison Avenue in New York in order to bring her art into the fashion world. Jacqueline Kennedy often visited her shop and when a photograph of Jackie was printed of her wearing a bag similar to the one offered today, the bag became the "it" bag of the times. Diane Love also designed jewelry and designed a line for Trifari Crown that created items that simulated antiquities in the Metropolitan Museum. Her items are highly collectible and are difficult to find today. This envelope style has a fold over flap. It is rectangular in shape. The bag is covered with a poly blend that resembles silk (could be silk?). It has a brocade look and the fabric has an Asian and deco vibe. The background is an antiqued gold color and there are floating floral accents done in deep navy. The flowers are large and are contrasted with smaller multi colored deco half moon accents. The palette is dramatic, stunning and sure to be noticed. The bag closes with a snap closure under the flap. There is a jewelry quality gold tone chain that can be tucked inside when desired. The chain is artsy and most interesting. The drop is 18". The inside is lined with a raw silky grosgrain black fabric. There is a open slip pocket and the fabric "Diane Love" label is inside. The measurements are 7 1/2"h x 8"w x 1"d. There are age indications on the chain but I think that the chain was purposely made to have an antiqued look. I could be wrong but this is my sense. In any event, the chain is also stunning. If Jackie Kennedy, the epitome of fashion, wore these bags, nothing more needs to be said! Condition: Excellent Near Mint VINTAGE Condition
