Whiting and Davis are known primarily for their mesh purses. They have been in business since the end of the 19th century. They also made a line of jewelry and fashion accessories, many incorporating mesh in the design. This bracelet is a little different since there isn't any mesh in the solid silver tone bracelet. It is a hinged clamper bracelet with a high repousse design that is very detailed. The repousse covers the entire bracelet and it is very intricate and dimensional. The main motif is the thistle, a prickly flower that is the emblem of Scotland. The flower itself is textured and the accompanying leaves are large and bright. There are highs and lows to the repousee. A push in clasp fits into a slot on the other side. The Whiting and Davis identification cartouche is stamped onto one side of the closure. There is a sturdy hinge and a safety chain. The inner side is a shiny silver tone. The bracelet inner diameter is 2 1/2", outer diameter is 2 3/4". The bracelet has an art nouveau vibe. It is quite lovely and certainly appears to be a more expensive bracelet than it actual price. Here's a chance to appreciate the thistle flower without the fear of being pricked. Sorry there is no scent! Condition: Excellent VINTAGE Condition
