Koi fish are symbols of love and friendship in Japan. They are used all over the world in ponds because of their attractive and appealing appearance. Now Judith Leiber has produced an attractive, appealing, lovely and friendly belt with koi fish as the main motif. Two koi fish comprise the buckle. They fit into each other and one is right side up while the other is upside down. They are identical with the exception of the gold plating finish: one is shiny, the other matte (leave it to Leiber!). They are highly detailed and are very large, each measuring 2 3/4"h x 2"w. They are dimensional and are not flat. The tail and head are skillfully detailed as are the scales on the body. Small green jade like cabochons are the eyes. The back has the closing buckle with one side fitting into the other. The "Judith Leiber" flag cartouche is imprinted on the back. There are two stretchy bright gold tone coils that are thick and substantial. They are banded and ribbed. They are not completely flat but slightly curve downwards. Each coil is 1/2" h. The belt measures 26" but can be stretched to 31". There aren't any issues to note, it is in great shape. This belt is striking and bold. Yet the fish motif is exciting and fun. Especially perfect for not only that "Pisces" gal but for everyone who appreciates lovely items and Judith Leiber! Condition: Excellent VINTAGE Condition
