So vintage looking, so today. Anthony Luciano's lineage were all artisans who worked with their hands. Luciano has said that "craftsmanship" was in his blood. His passion for leather working combined with a talent for matching vintage frames with contemporary bodies, contributed to his success. His purses are sold only in the finest retailers, including Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus. The bag is huge. This is the contemporary characteristic of the bag. It is curvaceous and is wider at the bottom than the top. The front and back panel are done in a soft and sweet pastel pink leather. The leather has a bit of crackling and it is sewn in a way to make it simulate alligator skin. There is "piping" between the rows that is sewn in a zig zag manner. This trim is raised from the surface and provides depth to the bag. The panels appear tufted. The pink panels are soft, smooth and oh so sweet. The pink reminds me of "cotton candy." You just want to gobble it up! The bottom and the side gussets are done in an off white canvas with hand sewn embroidered flowers throughout. The flowers are done in soft tones of pink, wheat, taupe, grey, green and yellow. The frame is from "yesterday." These frame were very popular during the mid century but I have never seen one so large. It is of a thick and chunky plastic that is often referred to as "bakelite" but it isn't that type of plastic (it most likely is celluloid). It is a soft light buttery yellow. It is curved and there are two thick knobs that are pushed to open the bag. There are two celluloid rings that attach a celluloid chain to the bag. The chain has double links. The drop is 8". The inside is lined with a rich bronzy brownish satin that has a slight opalescent sheen. There is an open slip pocket that is bordered with a floral trim. There is a sewn in penny provided by Luciano for "good luck." The sewn in "Anthony Luciano" black cloth label is inside. The inside of the bag is as spectacular as the outside. There aren't any signs of use or wear. The measurement are 7"h x 15"w x 2"d. The condition of the bag is stellar. There slight wear on the knobs. This bag was probably a custom made bag and was certainly well taken care of. It is a winner! One look and you know it's quality, artistic, creative and "one of a kind." Roomy enough for all of today's necessities and yet it has a very distinctive vintage vibe. I should keep if for myself!!!! Condition: Excellent VINTAGE Condition
