There are two ways of looking at things. One way is to glance the entire item over and see it in its "wholeness." The other way is to carefully inspect every aspect of the piece. Either way, this large bracelet by Grosse is absolutely peerless in its quality and craftsmanship and appearance. And what a statement it makes! Grosse, or Grosse and Henkel have created jewelry in Germany since the turn of the century. They began a collaboration with such fashion labels as Lanvin and Schiaparelli and in 1955 became the sole licensee of Christian Dior jewelry. There designs were often airy and wispy and very feminine. This bracelet has a little different vibe. It is large and chunky. It consists of 4 huge filigree gold tone ovals. These openwork ovals have a braided rim and two concentric fluted gold tone rings surround huge lapiz lazuli cabochons. The fluted accents are very decorative and give a "lacey" effect. The deep blue cabochons have streaks of veins of blue throughout. They are domed and provide visual depth to the piece. The ovals are connected to each other by large textured gold tone bands. There is an extended chain of small gold tone circles that connect to a large spring mechanism closure. There is a small tag attached to the extender chain stating "Grosse." The back of the bracelet is a florentine matte gold tone. The bracelet is in great condition without any significant issues to note. The bracelet measures 9"in length (length can be adjusted using the extender chain) and 1 3/4" in height. The ovals measure 1 3/4"h x 1 1/2"w. This bracelet is timeless and unique. It is statement making from afar and when closely looked at, its appearance reflects superb craftsmanship and classic design. It is glamorous and dramatic and has that WOW factor.
