At first glance it is obvious that this is a high end handbag. Designed by La Jeunesse, a leather goods company founded by George Theodoris who came to the USA from Greece. He established a company that designed high end leather goods and accordingly had high end customers such as Jackie Kennedy. Unfortunately the company did not endure but what remains are a few outstanding luxury bags, if you can find them. The bag is rectangular in shape with a fold over flap on the front and a faux flap on the back. The color of the karung skins are a deep medium brown with rich variations of color throughout. The front flap is artistically sculpted into an interesting shape that harbors the ornamental accent for the underside snap. There is a large matte gold tone oval shaped piece upon which there is an engraved "coin" like piece. This piece is very unusual having a soldier on horseback in battle with an angel hovering over him. The words on the circumference include "Washington" and "America". The engravings are remarkable. There are recessed soldiers in the background and movement is clearly transmitted in the galloping horse and angel. The coin itself is a "work of art." This disc is raised on top of the oval piece thus creating dimension and depth. The bag closes with a snap and opens in an accordion manner. Believe it or not, the inside is lined in python skins!!! The skins are a lighter brown and there are two open pockets and one zippered one (lined in satin). There is a small lizard coin purse (also lined with python) and a small mirror with an ornate open metal work "crown" with the letters "GF" highlighted. (La Jeunesse was a division of G and F Handbags). The dimensional gold tone metal "La Jeunesse" is affixed inside. The inside is in very good condition with minor signs of wear and age. The carry strap is also interesting. It can be used as a shoulder strap (drop 16 1/2") or doubled as a carry handle (drop 5 1/2") for a hand held bag. It is made from the karung skins and the hardware is a shiny gold tone. The strap does show a bit or wear and age but it has plenty of life ahead (there are two old repairs seen only when worn as a shoulder bag). Other than that, the bag shows only minor indications of age and wear. The bag measures 9"w x 7 1/2"h x 2"d. This bag is a luxury item. Who ever heard of python lining??? It is smart and important looking. It is timeless and versatile. Although it is vintage, it has many years ahead of it. It is unique!
Condition: Very Good VINTAGE Condition

P.S. If the strap bothers the new owner, I can replace it with a jewelry quality chain at a minimal cost to the purchaser. How great would that be!!!!!! OMG!
