It is obvious when looking at this bag that is was created by a master artisan. In fact, that is the case with this simple yet stunning evening purse by Renaud Pellegrino. Pelligrino began his entry into the fashion world at the age of 12 when his mother procured an apprentice job for her young son. His creativity was immediately recognized and he worked for YSL before opening his own boutiques in 1983. He is credited with creating the "cardinal's cap" purse. This black silk purse is small in size. It is narrow and has a fold over flap. The silk is not shiny and has a very subtle brushed effect. The handle is very special. It is made of acrylic tear shaped large "beads." They are both clear and black. They are tightly arranged and appear to be twisted. The handle is chunky and thick. It has a drop of 4". The handle has sort of a "gypsy" look while the purse body is slim and sleek. This ying yang works to create a bag with interest and drama. The bag closes with a magnetic snap. The inside is lined with a pale pinkish silk like material. There is an open pocket outlined in black. There is a sewn in label stating Renaud Pellegrino, Paris, France with a street address. The inside is in very good condition with minimal signs of use and wear. The measurements are 7"w x 3 1/2'h x 1 3/4"d. The bag is in great condition without any significant issue besides the most minimal expected signs of wear and age. Although small, this bag makes a big statement. The artistry of the designer is apparent! Condition: Excellent VINTAGE Condition
