The "cage" design was very popular during the mid century. It was usually medium or large sized and was made by several companies, including Majestic and Etra (the manufacturer of this bag). I was particularly attracted to this bag because of its size. It is small and due to its size it takes on a completely different vibe than the larger ones. Being small, it is more formal and is suitable to be carried at a formal affair, unlike the larger ones. While remaining "funky", it gains an air of fun sophistication and smartness. It is different, unusual and yet very versatile. The bag is rounded and linear at the same time. It is covered with a gold lame leather that has texture and crackle. It is bright and shiny. The gold tone metal cage is also bright and shiny. In fact the entire purse seems to be in new unused condition. The cage has vertical lines and horizontal ones that curve at the sides. The bag closes with a latch that moved down to open and up to close. The leather on the lid is slightly padded and it attaches to the bag with a sturdy hinge. There is a rolled double gold tone leather carry strap that has accented rings around it. It has a drop of 5". There are four small balls on the bottom for protection. When opened, the lid has a mirror attached to it. The inside is lined with a salmon colored grosgrain fabric. "Etra" is imprinted inside in gold letters. The inside is in great shape with minimal signs of use. The purse measures 6 1/2"w x 5"h x 2 3/4"d. The purse is in wonderful condition without any significant issues to note. I just love this bag! The metamorphosis going from a large bag to a smaller bag is amazing. The end result is a bag perfect for dressy and formal occasions. Size does matter! Condition: Excellent VINTAGE Condition
