If I were to name this handbag, it would be called "Fun ad infinitum." So much fun!!!!! Unusual and striking with traditional elements all wrapped up into one. It was handmade in France and its designer certainly had skill, creativity and wasn't afraid to think outside of the "box." The bag is rectangular and the body of the bag is a brocade type sturdy fabric. There are rows of shiny and matte large scale type accents affixed to the fabric. There are 8 rows of shiny silver tone plastic accents that alternate with scales that are a brushed silver tone. There are 7 in a row and they overlap onto the row beneath. The effect is mod and groovy. The silver tone frame has engravings and is of the type that was commonly used in the 1920's and beyond. The closure is original to the frame and is a push up type. There are two large silver tone multi faceted glass stones set in filigree caps. I believe that the fabric body of the bag and the frame are original and the plastic appendages were placed at a later date. Such a clever mix of the old and the new (circa 1960's) .There is a decorative silver tone chain (probably newer) with a drop of 13". The inside has an off white satiny lining. It has an open slip pocket and the label "Hand Made in France" is sewn inside. The inside is almost spotless. The bag measures 7 1/2"h x 6 1/2"w x 1"d. The bag is in great condition. There is some glue residue on some of the upper plastic tabs but I leave that to the owner to remove, if they wish. There are some scuffs on the surface of some of the shiny tab and the silver frame shows wear. All this does not take away from the unusual and funky appearance of the bag. Are you sassy enough to wear it? Condition; Very Good+ VINTAGE Condition
