If you love the color red, as I do, this Judith Leiber handbag is for you. There always is something "special" about a Leiber bag. In this case there are two extraordinary characteristics: the intense color and the huge size. Rarely seen in a Leiber bag, this bag's size is absolutely huge, measuring 15"w x 11"h x 2"d. Enough room to hold everything, although I wouldn't load it up since it is vintage. The bag is made of python skins that are dyed a raging fire engine red. The red can also be considered Christmas red and it is striking and daring. The bag has panels of this exotic snakeskin that are sewn together with thin python braiding in between these panels. There is gentle pleating throughout. The scales are in great condition without lifting (although as stated many times, lifting is not a defect and is expected as the skins age). A horizontal band of python is at the top in lieu of a frame. There are 4 small bun like feet on the bottom for protection. There are two thin carry straps of the python with a drop of 16 1/2"d. There is a zipper for closure. The zipper is sunk about two inches from the top of the bag and cannot be seen. There is a decorative silver tone pull tag with a red cabochon set within. There is an open slip pocket and a zippered pocket. A small red grosgrain coin purse is included. The Judith Leiber gold tone identification panel is affixed inside. There are minimal signs of use and age inside as well as outside. Nothing major to note. I believe this bag to be an early example of Leiber's work. This bag is confidant and bold. It cannot be missed....that's what it's all about!!!! Condition: Excellent VINTAGE Condition
