You cannot watch a movie made in the late 40's or early 50's without seeing a fur clip on the shoulder of the coat of the heroine. They were extremely popular then. Although their popularity has waned through the years, Judith Leiber began to reintroduce them in her popular jewelry line, circa 1980's. This particular fur clip, or as they were once commonly referred to as lapel pins, looks as though it was made mid century. It is that authentic looking (no surprise, its Judith Leiber). It is architecturally shaped as a stylized "V". The metal used is silver tone and there are sharp lines throughout. The bottom third is black enamel and the rest of the pin is completed with clear diamente Swarovski crystals. The crystals are also arranged in "V" patterns. There are tiny silver mili beads throughout enhancing the sparkle and shine of the pin. The top of the clip has points along the upper surface. The shining crystals and the sharp pointed angles throughout the pin create a fabulous fur clip that looks as though it came out of a film noir movie of the mid century. The back is a brushed silver and the clip mechanism is tight and sturdy. "Judith Leiber" is marked on a small cartouche in the back. There are no issues with this clip, it is in fabulous condition. There are minuscule areas that are bare, you can only see them if you looking very carefully. All crystals are present and the enameling is as it was created. This fur clip is visually electric. You. can almost see the lightning flash out of the pin. If you love art deco, this pin is for you. Condition: Excellent VINTAGE Condition
