Anyone lucky enough to buy a Natori purse during its limited "run" in the late 20th century, knows how special these bags are. I bought a few and love them to this day. I am always on the look out for them. Known primarily for high end lingerie and nightwear, Natori produced exotic and unusual bags for only 3-4 years. Consequently these bags are rare and hard to fine. All are high quality items and all are highly stylized often with an Asian flair. The evening bag is soft structured. It is made of a durable black silk fabric. Its shape is pouch like. There are soft folds in the top middle of the front and back of the bag. The most exciting aspect of the bag is the large brass clasp that is molded into the face of Bacchus, the god of wine. The face is highly detailed and is not flat, the part around the eyes is especially exaggerated. In fact, his eyes appear to be soft and calm (maybe after a glass or two of merlot!). There is a large mint green round cabochon resembling jade on the top of his head. The figure is holding a braided black silk cord with a tassel. The bag closes with a magnetic snap. There is a wrist strap has a drop of 4 1/2". The inside is lined with the Natori red dotted silk like fabric. There is a silver tone identification plaque stamped with "Natori Made in Italy." The inside is in fabulous condition with little signs of wear. The measurements of the bag are 7 1/2"w x 6"h x 1 1/2"d. The bag is in great condition without any issues to mention. This bag is unusual while being whimsical at the same time. It is neat and smart while being striking and inventive at the same time. How sweet is the grape, how sweet is the wine, how sweet is this Natori purse! Condition: Excellent VINTAGE Condition
