For some reason this necklace by Judith Leiber reminds me of going on a cruise. It is the perfect accompaniment to the blue ocean waves and the feeling of tranquility and serenity as you walk the decks of the ship. Judith Leiber made a line of accessories which included jewelry along with her renowned purses. The jewelry had the same high quality and unique designs as her wonderful bags. This pendant is a stylized shell (it could be a snail but I prefer to look at it as a shell.....more romantic) . It is large and done in a shiny gold tone metal. It has curves reminiscent of an "s". This gives the piece fluidity and the appearance of movement. It is fluted and there are ridges. It is very textural and begs to be touched. It is not flat but is three dimensional yet it lays flat when worn. It is really lovely. The underside is hollow and done in a Florentine type gold. "Judith Leiber" is imprinted on the back in a swirl cartouche. There is a dainty gold chain that is a nice counterpoint to the thick and chunky pendant. I do not believe the chain is original to the piece and it is not marked. The entire necklace is in very good condition. There is some plate wear on the back of the shell but the front is fine. The measurements of the pendant are 2 1/4"h x 1 1/4"h x 5/8"d. The chain necklace measures 20 1/2"in length. This shell necklace would be perfect on an all white outfit or colorful floral design attire. Not too much, but just enough!!!!! Condition: Excellent- VINTAGE Condition
