Judith Leiber, known for her wonderful purses, also created a line of jewelry consistent with the standards of her purse making. Although fur clips were popular during the 1940's-'50's, these clips are undoubtedly of a later date. They are of a small-medium size and are oval shape. There is a slight curve to them as they are not completely flat. They are entirely covered with the finest Austria crystals, namely Swarovski crystals. The crystals are a rare bronze color, not the familiar clear (silver) or gold. There are two striking (no pun intended) "lightning bolts" covering most of the clip's surface. The bolts are angular and sharp. The bolts are lined with a thin gold border and they have clear Swarovski crystals or black ones in between the gold outline. The bolts are dynamic and fully "charged." They give the clips a fluidity and an "electric" quality. The backs are a brushed Florentine gold and both clips have Judith Leiber cartouche. The hinges work fine and the clip ends are sharp. They measure 1 1/4"h x 1-"w. They are in great condition. Two crystals on one earring may have lost their covering but they still shine and some of the clear crystals in the tip of the bolt have darkened slightly. THis is no big deal and is mentioned for accuracy sake. Worn together on one lapel of a blazer or worn on one shoulder of a black dress or sweater....these clips will top off your outfit in a bold and daring way. Condition: Excellent VINTAGE Condition
