"Queen of the Nile" - Have you ever fantasized about being Cleopatra? Well here's your chance to dress up that fantasy with this Cleopatra style sterling bib necklace from the 1970's. There is no maker's mark although it is marked 925 Italy. THe Cleopatra side is made up of narrow panels or rectangles that are connected to the rim of the necklace. They are graduated in size with the middle panels being the longest ( 1" from the central core) and reducing in length as they go around the necklace. The panels are highly etched and decorated. THey have wavy lines and overlapping circles that form a continuous pattern going across the entire bib. The design seems to have a spirograph as the main motif. THe silver at times has a very, very, slight tinge of rose or gold depending on the lighting. The back is flat, and smooth without etchings. You can reverse the necklace to wear it on this side, but the panels do stick up a bit. It closes with a secure lobster claw mechanism. The bib measures approximately 15 inches not including the clasp. The width graduates from 1/4" to 1". The necklace is in great shape with a few very minimal signs (a little spotting that you have to look for, not a big deal). The necklace is very easy to wear since it is very light. Worn on a crew neck sweater or a V-neck dress or a Roman style draped gown (a la Cleo), you will surely attract many a Julius Caesar or Marc Anthony. What could be bad?????
