Pair of wonderful European jardinières. Most likely English possibly French. Enamel over copper trapped in ormolu with swags and tassels, garlands of flowers, leaf and berry handles, and a pierced border around the top. Cobalt blue ground with beautiful scenes of people in landscapes on front and floral motif on the back. Nicely detailed with Victorian gilding and applied white and turquoise blue raised enamel dots. Very heavy and extremely well crafted. Dates to the late 19th century. 10-1/4 height by 10" handle to handle. Opening 6" diameter by 5" height. Excellent condition.
