Presented here is a charming hand-painted etui or needle case purchased recently in England. It is studded with bucolic country scenes beautifully rendered in great detail: Couples frolicking beside a stream with a church in the background; a piper resting under a tree; a man and his dog near a windmill - it goes on and on. It is made of enamel, all hand-painted and measures 3/4 by 2 3/4 inches, made probably early 1900's or earlier. A lovely piece of sewing craftsmanship. Thanks for your interest.
