Presented here is a highly unusual cameo. It is a shell cameo in the Greco-Roman classical motif with two full-standing figures, a man and woman in flowing toga and other classical dress. The carving is remarkable - the folds in the clothing are particularly well done. The pair of lovers stand on a shell base and are encircled in 14 K gold. It is a pendant but can easily be adapted into a pin/brooch. It measures 1 by 1 and 1/2 inches in an oval shape and is in excellent condition. It is early 1900's, about 1910.
