Presented here is a stunning rosewood sewing box made in England during the Victorian period (1860-1880). It measures 6 by 8 inches and 5 by 7 inches in the inside tray. It is made of rosewood with mother-of-pearl accents including the escutcheon. The upper box is lined in red velvet and contains various sewing items and has its own key. The box is in excellent vintage condition with some minor warping of the rosewood where the wood has shrunk due to age. This does NOT detract from the overall beauty of the box which has some of the loveliest banding in the wood that I have ever seen. Thanks for your interest. A great addition to your sewing or box collection.
