Top quality French antique 19th century large footed beveled glass jewel casket vitrine box – Rare and extraordinary

In over 35 years of selling very special antique pieces, I just couldn’t let this one go when I found it. It’s being sold out of my private, personal collection. I used this special antique find both in my home as a gorgeous decorative accessory as well as in my antique jewelry shop to display some of my pieces.

This rare treasure is 6-sided with a very unique shape

Its frame is made of gilt bronze or brass, and the thick crystal top and sides are beveled on all sides

The cover is hinged and snaps shut well.

The floor of this treasure is covered in a tufted champagne tone satin. This sits on the bottom frame and can be lifted out if desired.

Raised on four feet that are repousse with openwork decorations

This type of quality box is extremely rare these days.

Very nice antique condition with only minor wear commensurate with age and use; the hinge is a bit weak (see photo) but the top closes properly and is aligned and doesn’t at all detract from the beauty of this very special box; small chip on back corner of top glass (almost impossible to notice)

Measures 9.5 inches (24.1 cm) wide X 6.5 inches (16.5 cm) front to back X 6.25 inches (15.9 cm) high

This casket is very substantial and heavy - it weighs 4 pounds 8 ounces
