One of a kind, exceptionally rare, early 20th-century Austrian jeweled evening bag purse

Jeweled pieces of this quality and workmanship have always been and continue to be extremely difficult to find

Through much searching over many years, I have collected a number of these special jeweled items and am reluctantly willing to part with some of the pieces in my collection now. This is the only one of its kind that I’ve ever seen!!

This luxurious evening bag is a very special, very ornate example made of gilt brass or bronze

Its front side is embellished with a huge array of bezel-set, faceted and cabochon stones, some of which could be semi-precious. The filigree on which the stones are set is accented with an off-white enamel decoration

The back side of this rare gem is intricate filigree which is slightly curved

There is a hinge which allows the purse to be fully opened; the clasp snaps shut securely

The interior of the purse is lined in off-white moire that’s in wonderful condition. It is fitted to hold all of the necessities any elegant lady of that era might have needed at a ball

Stamped on the moire is “Made in Austria”

Adding to the beauty and functionality of this piece is a twisted rope handle and 2 hanging tassels.

Meticulously crafted; gorgeous style, detail and workmanship

Excellent antique condition with only minor wear commensurate with age and use

Bag alone measures 4 inches (10.2 cm) X 3.5 inches (8.9 cm) X 1.25 inches (3.2 cm) deep
