A very pretty dresser or dressing table set, comprising of a tray, vase or hatpin holder, ring stand with hand, hair receiver and trinket box.
The hair receiver and trinket box stand on three dainty legs, and one leg is damaged. As the bases are identical, the set could be displayed with either the plain lid or the hair receiver, but not both - they are interchangeable. There is some wear to the gilding and I have done my best to illustrate that in the accompanying photographs, but the overall decorative effect of the set is very pretty, with the turquoise blue edging setting off to perfection the gilded design of the trailing leaves and the pretty roses in the cartouches. All other pieces are perfect, having no chips or cracks, just the wear to the gilding.
I am not a Nippon expert but have researched the mark and it appears to be authentic. The obvious signs of use and local provenance would back this up. The tray measures 1.75 inches (27cm) by 7.5 inches (19cm) The vase or hatpin holder is 4.75 inches (12cm) in height.
