As the Author's Note says:

'These comments upon political and other events during the first half of 1939 are reprinted from weekly articles contributed, under the title "People and Things" to the The Spectator. ' Of course they chronicle a very important time in the history of this country, and of the world.

Sir Harold George Nicolson KCVO CMG (21 November 1886 – 1 May 1968) was an English diplomat, author, diarist and politician. He was the husband of writer Vita Sackville-West, their unusual relationship being described in their son's book, Portrait of a Marriage. He was uniquely placed to record this time of crisis.

Within its protective dustwrapper, which is itself in excellent condition, the blue cloth cover has suffered a little at some stage from damp. Please take a close look at all the full-size photos.

About 7.5" by 5"; 204 pp; the dustwrapper has not had its price clipped.
