A delightful Scottish agate ware money bank or moneybox, probably from the Belfield Pottery in Prestonpans but also possibly from the Seaton Pottery in Aberdeen. Made circa 1880. Perfect apart from a little damage to the glaze by the slot, where the careful child has used a knife to extract the money. I was the same as a child. I would never smash my box.
Approximately 4 x 3 x 3 inches.
