A large matted Victorian art print with later hand-colouring, probably published in the Art Journal, entitled The Way-side in Andalusia. It was originally painted by R. Andsell ARA and J Phillip RA and engraved by C Cousen.
The female traveler on her gaily-decorated donkey plays a small guitar, while the donkey is gently led by a young boy. Another heavily-laden donkey follows on behind. By the wayside, the aloe plants demonstrate the aridity of the landscape.
Overall mat size 16.25 x12 inches (41 x 30.5 cm). Visible print size 11 x 8.75 inches (27.5 x 22.5 cm). In excellent condition.
