A 'Gaudy Welsh' teapot, decorated in the typical Imari palette with gilding. About five inches in height to the top of the knob.
Not in perfect condition – there are two chips and a knock on the rim. The chip on the lid is glazed over and must have been made before the pot was sold to its first owner. I have done my best to show all these in the photos.
Marked on the base with an impressed ENGLAND, which dates it to after 1892, and T255 in the iron red, almost certainly a decorator’s mark.
