A vibrant orange Barum Ware jug by Charles H. Brannam of Barnstaple in North Devon, made between 1893 and 1913. Art Pottery, but using a colour which is more reminiscent of the Art Deco period.
The interior glaze is darker, like that on the base. . This darker effect is probably because the glaze is thinner, and the rich reddish-brown body of the jug, so typical of the Devon wares, is showing through.
It is about 5” in height and 6” in diameter across the base.
