Antique 1907 English Arts and Crafts Art Nouveau Sterling Silver Enamel Sash Buckle
Charming, beautifully hand made antique sterling silver enamel English Arts and Crafts/Art Nouveau sash buckle, with luminous turquoise blue and green leaf and floral design. Made by Lawrence Emanuel (1874-1931), and assayed in Birmingham in 1907. The enamel design is raised in smooth enamel. The ground is exquisitely and finely hand hammered. Hallmarked on the front with the symbol for Birmingham (anchor), 1907 (h) Sterling (Lion Passant) and LE for Lawrence Emanuel. Measures 4 inches wide by 2 1/2 inches high. Weight is a heavy 33.5 grams. Condition is excellent with no damage and light wear consistent with age.
