With flower and flowing scroll work this wonderful W. & S. B. (W. & S. Blackinton Co.) marked antique locket is a classic example of c1900 art nouveau design. W. & S. Blackinton Co. (W&SB), established in 1865, was originally a manufacturer of gold jewelry in Meriden, CT.. The stones have tiny open backs and are of varying colors and the two pearls at the bottom are lovely. Type of pearls and stones is unknown. The engraved lettering on the back reads: HPE. The locket opens and closes securely and an easily removable hoop allows placement of photo or keepsake. Some age wear as seen in photos but no loss of charm. Nice warm gold which is hard to capture in pictures. No pictures are color enhanced, just variations in natural light. 1 1/2" tall X 1 1/8" wide. Gold Filled.
