Sonneberg Bebe 137 - “Jumeau-Look” - 11 Inches
This closed mouth child doll was made in Sonneberg Germany, circa 1885.
This little child doll has a bisque socket head with a flat solid domed head incised 137, with brown glass eyes, blushed cheeks, painted facial features, closed mouth with pink painted lips and darker lip lining reminiscent of her French sisters, and molded pierced ears. She has a vintage auburn mohair wig. She has a jointed composition and wood body with straight arms. She is wearing all antique cream colored cotton and linen clothing, vintage brown velvet hat, cotton socks, and wonderful antique black leather shoes with the original metal buckles.
Size: 11 inches.
Condition: Excellent. The bisque is free of damage or repair, some old repaint to the upper arms.
This early Sonneberg bebe will make a great addition to any collection of German or French bebes!
