Button it up with Trifari. Alfred Philippe's design patent of 1938 features shoe button style glass beads center set with sparkling rhinestones on a bed of enameled foliage. Gold tone and rhinestone accents complete. The bead cabochons in the set presented are enrobed in a lustrous pearlescent finish. Enamel is jet black -- rhinestone accents, clear. Bases' golden finishes are typical of the period. A pin clip in Trifari's shoe button design can be seen on page 76 of the Brunialtis' "American Costume Jewelry". Our set utilizes the same materials and finishes.
The bracelet measures about 7 inches x 3/4 inch with a 7/8 inch profile or height. The bracelet secures via an integrated push in box clasp. Screw back earrings are approximately 7/8 inch across. Faux pearl cabochons are about 11 millimeters. Weight of the bracelet and earrings set is approximately 62 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components original and intact. All pearlescent finishes intact. No chips, nicks, cracks, peeling or discoloration. Black enamel intact. All rhinestones intact and uniformly clear and brilliant. Gold tone finish intact, fronts and backs. Slight gold tone finish wear to tops of leaves' veins on bracelet. Minimal wear to gold tone finish on bracelet's reverse. All links aligned and secure. Clasp strong and secure. Earrings' screw back secure. No dents or improper bends to metal. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
Reverse of bracelet is signed on clasp: "TRIFARI" and on reverse of end link: "PAT. PEND.". Each earring is signed on reverse: "PAT. PEND.". They are a definite part of this set and were made by Trifari. The demi dates circa 1938.
