Within the compressed center of Napier's intricate golden filigree domed earrings rests a superb dentelle faceted chaton rhinestone. The fine filigree work and dazzling dentelle faceting play off each other beautifully -- each showcasing the other. The butterfly clip backs, utilized for their enduring memories, were used by Napier, according to Melinda L. Lewis in her comprehensive book "The Napier Co.", from 1953 to the early '70s. The earrings presented date within this time frame, circa 1950s-1960s.
The earrings measure about 1 inch across with a 3/8 inch profile or height. Dentelle faceted stones are approximately 9 millimeters. Weight of the earrings pair is about 10 grams.
Condition is excellent / pristine vintage. All components original and intact. Rhinestones retain uniform brilliance. No cloudy, yellow, gray, dark or dead stones. No chips, cracks or breaks to stones. All gold tone finish intact, fronts and backs. Filigree work free of dents, improper bends, crush or collapse. Each earring is signed on it's clip: "NAPIER" and "PAT. PEND.". Each is also signed on it's clip bottom: "NAPIER" and "PAT. PEND.". Circa 1950s-1960s.
