The Layco, Ross & Company, Inc., maker of the LaRoco brand was founded circa 1918 in Seattle, Washington. Little is know about the firm -- it appears to have been in business until at least the 1960s. The gold tone, shield style clip earrings presented, circa 1950s-'60s, feature sparkling pink rhinestones in marquise and variously sized chaton rhinestones. The photos show the earrings inverted -- the largest chaton rhinestone is the "bottom" with the shield or pointed portion following the ear up. All stones are pronged glass. Materials and construction are excellent quality.
The earrings measures about 1 3/8 inches x 1 inch at their widest with a 1/4 inch profile or height. Large base chaton is approximately 11 millimeters; marquises, about 15 millimeters x 7 millimeters. Weight of the earrings pair is 16 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All rhinestones intact, retaining color and brilliance. No chips, nicks, cracks or breaks to stones. All gold tone finish intact, fronts and backs. All soldering secure. Clips strong and secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
Each original earring clip is signed in script: "La Roco", no copyright symbol. Circa 1950s-1960s.
