Circa 1920s-1930s, this Deco era collar / choker style medallion pendant necklace fits closely about the neck with an adjustable cobra, snake or serpentine brass tone chain. A faux seed pearl rosette bail is suspended with a large starburst / snowflake medallion studded with clear chaton rhinestones and a dome of faux seed pearls topped with a green chaton rhinestone. The open work design lends an airy lightness to the substantial medallion. A bit of pearly luster and diamante sparkle complete the presentation.
The necklace is adjustable to about 13 3/4 inches with charmed extension chain and hook closure. The medallion pendant with bail is approximately 2 1/2 inches x 2 1/8 inches with a 7/16 inch profile. Center green chaton rhinestone is about 6 millimeters. Weight of the necklace is approximately 48 grams.
Condition is very good to excellent vintage. All components original and intact. Pearls retain nacre and luster with minimal wear. All rhinestones intact -- uniformly clear and brilliant. Green chaton retains color and sparkle. No dents or improper bends to metal. Snake chain free from kinks or folds. We have not polished the medallion or chain so there is substantial patina. The brass finish may polish up if you so desire but please be aware that the metal, as presented, is not bright and shiny. We have left the aged finish / patina intact. No damage / no repairs. Clean. Very good to excellent vintage.
The necklace is not signed. It's design, materials, construction and overall presentation suggest a 1920s-1930s vintage.
