Circa 1930s, this wonderful festoon or swag necklace features four bilateral garland chains centered with a diamond shaped ruffled brass filigree medallion. A foiled flat back rauten rose cut red rhinestone adds the fire. The stone has the look of fine guilloche enameling -- the facets and foiling reflecting a delicate thumbprint pattern that glows from within.
The necklace is a fixed approximate 17 inches with spring ring clasp. The decorative center spans about 6 inches. Center medallion is about 1 7/8 inches across. Round rauten rose cut rhinestone is approximately 10 millimeters. Weight of the necklace is about 26 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All chains and connections secure. Great drape. No dents or improper bends to ruffled medallion. Wonderful, age appropriate patina. No verdigris. Rhinestone free from chips, nicks, cracks or breaks. Superb color, foiling and brilliance. Spring ring clasp show some finish wear. It sticks a bit but will close securely when thumb tab is guided. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
The necklace is not signed. Design, materials, construction and overall presentation suggest a 1930s vintage.
