A company called Mode-Art produced jewelry signed "ART" from circa 1950s-1970s. Owned by Arthur Pepper it was based in New York. Designs ran the gamut from Victorian inspired themes to mid century modern and beyond. The gold tone clip earrings presented, circa 1960s, feature amethyst colored glass rhinestones in chaton, baguette and oval cuts. Rich purple color lends soft sparkling glow to these dangling delights.
The earrings measure a generous 2 1/2 inches x 1/2 inch at their widest point with a maximum 1/4 inch profile or thickness. Oval rhinestones are approximately 18 millimeters x 13 millimeters; largest chaton, about 5 millimeters. Weight of the earrings pair is approximately 14 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components original and intact. All rhinestones retain color and sparkle. No chips, nicks, cracks or breaks to stones. All gold tone finish intact, fronts and backs. All connections / soldering secure. Earring clips strong and secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
Reverse of earrings are signed: "ART" followed by copyright symbol. They date circa 1960s.
