While bearing an uncanny resemblance to Miriam Haskell jewelry, Robert DeMario of New York (1945-1960) was not associated with the Haskell house. His designs, also reminiscent of contemporaries Eugene and Robert, often feature tiny wired beads attached to dimensional filigree frameworks incorporating art glass cabochons and sparkling rhinestones. Work is of the highest quality rivaling all aforementioned designers. Each earring presented offers three silver tone flower blossom shaped filigree plates set and / or wired with milk glass smooth round and textured disk cabochons as well as tiny white beads. A clear chaton rhinestone pops at center of top blossom.
The clip earrings measure approximately 1 1/6 inches x 3/4 inch with a generous 9/16 inch profile or height. Large round, textured milk glass cabochon is about 12 millimeters; chaton rhinestone, approximately 6 millimeters. Weight of the earrings pair is about 14 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components original and intact. Evenly white glass beads and cabs free from chips, nicks, cracks, stains or breaks. Rhinestones uniformly clear and brilliant. Riveting, settings, soldering, and wiring secure. Silver tone finish with appropriate patina intact, fronts and backs. Earring clips strong and secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
Each original earring clip is signed: "DEMARIO N.Y.". They date circa 1950s.
