Jewels by Rosada. From the limited work seen, Rosada appears to have been in business around the 1940s to perhaps the '60s. Interestingly, most of the surviving pieces appear to be sets. Much of the jewelry was not marked, but rather presented in satin lined paperboard boxes, emblazoned in golden letters: "Jewels By Rosada". We have been fortunate to acquire a three piece matched set in it's original Rosada presentation box, circa 1940s-1950s.
The set includes a swag, garland or festoon style necklace draped with rows of clear chaton rhinestones with a center bell shaped pendant. Garland ends and pendant center are set with specialty stones -- blue bell rhinestones. Matching double row rhinestone bracelet also uses two of the blue bell specialty stones at center. Screw back drop earrings complete the parure, embellished once again with the blue bell rhinestones.
The necklace is a fixed approximate 16 inches with fold over clasp. Decorative center spans about 5 3/4 inches with a maximum 1 9/16 inch width. The bracelet is about 7 inches with fold over clasp x 3/4 inch at it's widest point. Screw back earrings are approximately 1 9/16 inches x 3/4 inch. Blue bell specialty stones are about 11 millimeters x 10 millimeters; clear chaton rhinestones, 3 and 5 millimeters. Weight of the three piece set is approximately 46 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All "white" rhinestones uniformly clear and brilliant. No dark, off or dead stones. All blue bell specialty stones intact with even blue color and icy glow. No chips, nicks, cracks or breaks. All soldering secure. All silver tone finish intact, fronts and backs. Clasps and screw backs strong and secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage. Textured pink box shows typical signs of age and wear. Some stains at top. Some feathering at sides and bottom. No splits. No crush. Back paper "hinge" intact but weak. Interior remains very nice with clean satin lining intact. Interior top retains strong golden lettering: "Jewels By Rosada". Interior bracing ribbon missing. The box is included "as is".
The pieces, themselves, are not signed. They are original to the box, identifying them as Jewels By Rosada. The set dates circa 1940s-'50s.
