Joseph and Lincoln Mazer, immigrants from Russia founded Mazer Bros. in New York in 1923. Jewelry production began in 1927. The brother split the business in 1946, Joseph using the "Joseph Mazer", "Mazer" and "Jomaz" names from 1946-1981 and Lincoln branding "Mazer Bros." from 1946-1951. One of Mazer's most illustrious designers was Marcel Boucher, who went on to form his own revered company. Mazer used only the best materials in classic, elegant designs. The collar necklace presented exemplifies the company's timeless creations.
The choker features double strands of chaton rhinestones culminating in a fancy, pave set rhinestone fold over clasp -- equally flattering at back, side or front of neck. The necklace is plated in a rich, platinum colored rhodium. The collar is a fixed approximate 13 1/4 inches x 1/4 inch wide. Chatons are about 3 millimeters. Weight of the necklace is approximately 20 grams.
