The D. Lisner Company of New York, in business from about 1904 to 1985, used the Lisner mark from approximately 1938 -1985. The firm was an authorized agent for and marketed Schiaparelli jewelry in the United States prior to WWII. Other companies, including Whiting & Davis manufactured jewelry for Lisner. Urie Mandle joined the company in the 1930s as a full partner. Lisner is especially known for it's resin leaf and glittery rhinestone jewels of the '60s.
The flower and foliage brooch and earrings set presented, circa 1950s-1960s, casts curled and furled, gold tone pierced leaves with roped borders. The brooch features a large blossom set with marine and ice blue chaton rhinestones while the clip earrings compliment with a single marine blue chaton rhinestone.
The brooch measures about 3 inches x 1 3/8 inches at it's widest point with a 1/2 inch profile or height. Earrings are approximately 1 1/16 inches x 1/2 inch. Rhinestones range from 3 to 5 millimeters. Weight of the brooch and earring set is about 44 grams.
Condition is excellent / pristine vintage. All components original and intact. All rhinestones retain color and sparkle. No off, dull or dead stones. No chips, cracks, nicks or breaks to stones. All shapes retained. No dents, improper bends or collapse. All soldering secure. All gold tone finish intact, fronts and backs. Pin mechanism and earring clips strong and secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs.
Reverse of brooch is signed: "LISNER" copyright symbol preceding. The unsigned earrings are a definite part of the demi. The set dates circa 1950s-1960s.
