Kramer Jewelry Creation, Inc. aka Kramer and Kramer of New York, was founded by Louis Kramer in 1943. The company enjoyed much success until it's operations ceased in 1979 - early 1980. Kramer's vast portfolio included styles and price points over the board. From classical interpretations to mid century modernism, Kramer supplied the demand. It's collaboration with Christian Dior in the '50s-'60s as well as showcasing unique specialty stones commands special attention-- to wit the gorgeous bi-color rhinestone brooch and earrings set presented.
Spectacular two tone blue / green rhinestones are showcased along with supporting stones in Bermuda blue, Montana blue, Kelly green and aurora borealis in this marvelous '50s vintage pewter tone brooch and earrings demi. Bi-color stones, sometimes referred to as Cuba rhinestones and erroneously watermelon, have an incredible mix of two colors, in this example, blue and green. The baguettes and one of the ovals utilize this treatment in the brooch as do the emerald cuts in the earrings. The colors meld together seamlessly in a mesmerizing glow. Chatons, pears, marquises, emeralds and an oval in the complimenting colors aforementioned accentuate. Certainly one of Kramer's higher end specialty stone sets. You can see a strikingly similar Kramer set on page 231 in Julia C. Carroll's "Collecting Costume Jewelry 303".
