A true collar necklace in the shape of a collar with a center dangle, circa 1950s-1960s. Collar and dangle framework, in lilac colored chaton rhinestones, are filled with wonderful opalescent, marbled, moonstone like lavender glass marquise cabochons in varying degrees of brightness. Combination and coordination of colors and surfaces are superb -- brilliant pink diamante paired with luminous lavender cabs.
The necklace is adjustable to about 14 3/4 inches with cabochon charmed extension end and hook closure. Decorative center spans approximately 4 1/2 inches x 1 7/8 inches at it's widest point. Largest marquises are about 15 millimeters x 7 millimeters; chatons, approximately 2 millimeters. Weight of the necklace is about 26 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All rhinestones intact and brilliant. All cabs free from chips, nicks, cracks or breaks. Spectacular marbled opalescence. All soldering, connections and links secure. Collar is semi rigid for shape retention with added flexibility for proper drape. Gold tone finish intact, front and back. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs.
