Molded, etched glass leaves in two shades of blue frost, interspersed with gunmetal finished beads exemplify Elsa Schiaparelli's predilection with botanical themes in her '50s-'60s vintage link bracelet. Arranged chevron style, six rows of double leaves alternate with light and darker blue molded glass -- each leaf finely etched with veins / striations throughout. Lustrous pewter tone or gunmetal finished framework, beads, hardware and findings play opposite molded translucent, matte glass. Schiaparelli's juxtaposition of colors, materials and finishes endures the years. As stylish and sophisticated as when created.
The link bracelet measures about 7 inches long with fold over clasp and detachable safety chain. Width is approximately 1 5/16 inches with a 3/8 inch thickness or profile. Each unfoiled and open back, frame set leaf is about 28 millimeters x 14 millimeters. Weight of the bracelet is approximately 62 grams.
Condition is excellent / pristine vintage. All components original and intact. All molded glass leaves secure in pronged frame settings and free of chips, nicks, cracks or breaks. No stains, abrasions or rubs. Gun metal finish intact, front and back. All soldering / links secure. Fold over clasp and safety chain strong and secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. No issues. Pristine, near mint vintage.
The bracelet is signed on it's original fold over clasp in familiar script: "Schiaparelli". It dates circa 1950s-1960s.
