Huge, pear shaped green rhinestones, dotted with frosted green glass cabochons and a sprinkling of aurora borealis chaton rhinestones, offer a circle of colorful brilliance in this '50s vintage gold tone brooch. It was all about size and sparkle during the golden age of rhinestones. Costume jewelry had come into it's own -- proudly displayed for what it was...and wasn't. The brooch presented exemplifies this new found freedom of expression and execution.

It measures an impressive 2 1/4 inches across with a 7/8 inch profile. Large green pears are approximately 18 millimeters x 12 millimeters. Frosted green glass cabs are about 6 millimeters. Weight of the brooch is about 30 grams.

Condition is excellent vintage. All components original and intact. All rhinestones retain wonderful color, finish and brilliance. No dark, discolored, cloudy or dead stones. (Please do keep in mind that color can appear differently on monitors and in person.) No chips, nicks, cracks or breaks to stones. All soldering secure. No dents, improper bends or collapse. Gold tone finish intact, front and back. Pin shaft has slight bend not affecting function. Pin mechanism secure. Extremely clean. Minimal age related wear. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.

As was often the case with vintage costume jewelry, the brooch is not signed. Design, materials, construction and overall presentation date it circa 1950s. Premium quality.
